Form 1099 Reminder File By Jan 31

As a reminder, organizations (including nonprofits) are required to issue W2 to employees and 1099s to service providers (such as landlords, independent contractors, bookkeepers, attorneys and CPAs such as myself) by January 31

Note: Attorneys should always be sent a 1099 even if they are incorporated

 Starting this year if you file 10 or more information returns of any kind (W2, 1099) they must be filed electronically. (So you may not be able to complete a 1099 on the special red paper anymore.)
