Businesses Watch Out For A change To Meals Deduction in 2026

Today's Washington Post has an article on a new law set to hit in 2026 (which came from Trump's 2017 Tax Reform bill) which removes the deduction for workplace eating facilities and meals for the convenience of the employer (such as overtime meals).

Here is the story: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2025/06/15/office-snacks-cafeteria-taxes/

It's my first time quoted in the Washington Post.

This law change is NOT addressed in the One, Big, Beautiful Bill.

They cut my warning that I hope Congress doesn't tax nonprofits on this. Similar to how Congress is taxing nonprofits on commuter benefits as unrelated business income since businesses can't deduct commuting and parking benefits.
