SF Moma: Public Opening: JR’s The Chronicles of San Francisco
SF Moma’s free public space (Howard Street entrance) is finally reopening.
Thursday, May 23, 2019
Floor 1, Roberts Family Gallery
Free and open to the public; museum admission is not required
Join artist JR for an informal talk in the Roberts Family Gallery where he will unveil his new digital mural, The Chronicles of San Francisco. In early 2018, the artist set up a mobile studio in twenty-two locations across San Francisco to capture the stories and images of people in this multifaceted city. In addition to chatting about how he created this work, he will also activate his mobile studio in the Howard Street outdoor corridor. The subjects of the mural — all twelve hundred people — will be invited as special guests to the May 23 opening.
